Mac has released yet another limited edition collection called Mac Me Over. The launch is huge, but has a mix of permanent and limited edition products. I picked up a few shadows, lip products and fluidline gel liners. This look features two of the shadows and a gel liner.
Moleskin shadow was the one shade I was least excited about but ended up liking the most. It is a skin tone shade for me (NC45). I typically turn to Mac’s Soft Brown, but this shade is a lighter, more neutral and works better at blending out shadows without adding color (Soft Brown tended to add color). Moleskin can be a great highlight shade for darker skin tones. Outré was the color I was most excited about when I bought it (online), but now I’m on the fence. It is a mustard yellowed-brown, but I expected more mustard yellow than brown. They are both matte shades that are nice, soft and easy to use.
I also picked up my first Mac Fluidline in Midnight Blues. This gel liner is a lovely peacock blue. Unfortunately sold out already in the US, which is crazy since Mac Me Over officially launched on the 25th. For those outside of the US that want the new fluidlines, buy it fast. Swatches of the two fluidlines I picked up from this collection are included in the pictures (no base was used).

I blended Moleskin over Urban Decay’s Primer Potion from the crease up to the brow bone. Using a Laura Mercier Eye Crease brush, I applied Outré into my crease. I know I’m a little toasted from running outside, but even if I weren’t, this shade is barely brown and barely mustard-yellow on my skin. It still creates an interesting neutral eye. To darken my crease, I added a bit of Mac’s Brun using a Louise Young LY38B.
Using a Mac 239, I applied Gorgeous Gold all over my lid, concentrating the color near the lash line. Using a short shader brush, I patted on Manilla Paper to my inner corner and underneath my brow. I wasn’t impressed with this eye in the least until I put on the gel liner using an INGLOT 30T brush. In this look it may pull more green but that is because of the gold shade used underneath.
