Shop & Drop

I’m back!!  Thanks for hanging in there with me.  The past few weeks have been interesting to say the least.  It feels good to get back to blogging.

Mac released three new quads with their new Shop Mac, Cook Mac collection.  This look uses one of them called Shop & Drop.  My favorite shade in this quad is Hypnotizing, which reminds me of a darker version of Mac’s Vex.  This shade doesn’t have the duo chrome quality that Vex does, but takes on the pretty pink undertone.

After priming my lid and lower lash line, I applied the Hyperviolet (dark plum) paint pot with a fluffy synthetic brush.  I packed on Shop & Drop shadow with a Mac 239 onto my lid.  I concentrated the color on my lid lightly patted the color a bit past the crease.   With a Louise Young LY38B brush, I blended Power Boosted into my crease and blended the color into the lid shade.   I used a small pencil brush to run Power Boosted to my lower lash line and darkened it with the Shop & Drop shade.

Using a clean fluffy brush, I blended out the crease shade with Sugar Snack.  Depending on your skin tone, you may want to use another shade.  This pink is too pale to make a huge impact on this look.  I applied Hypnotizing to my inner corner with a small shader brush.

I lined my upper and lower lash line and water line with Urban Decay’s Perversion pencil.  I smudged the shade on my upper lash line.  Obviously my eyes don’t appreciate dark shades on my lower water line.  My eyes never fail to water and burn when I use heavily pigmented liner on my water line.

This look uses one of the three new Mac quads that are part of the Shop Mac, Cook Mac collection.  This Call Me Bubbles quad has some of my favorite eye shadow colors, but admittedly my list of favorites is quite long.  In this look, I also used a Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo as a base.  These potted cream shadows have become increasingly popular and they definitely live up to the hype.  They are similar to Mac Paint Pots in product and packaging, but half the price.

After priming, I applied Fierce & Tangy (a matte bright orange) with a synthetic brush onto my lid up to my crease.  I didn’t notice until it was too late, but this product got onto my lashes, which you can see in the pictures.   It was quite difficult to remove after the product set.  With a Mac 226, I blended Full of Flavour in the crease.  With a flat shader brush, I patted on Fresh Daily onto my lid and blended out the edges with the Mac 226.  With a small shader brush I put Call Me Bubbles into the inner corner.

With a clean blending brush and a skin tone shade (Mac Moleskin) I softened the edges of the crease color and blended it up to the brow.  With a Louise Young LY38A, I darkened the crease and outer corner with Mac’s Shadowy Lady.  With a small pencil brush, I lightly applied Shadowy Lady to my lower lash line.  With a Mac 263, I applied a dark brown gel liner to my upper lash line and lightly onto my lower lash line.
