Estee Lauder: Pure Color Blush

I’ve found a new makeup love…Estee Lauder.  I don’t know why, but I hadn’t paid any attention to this brand until last month.  Now, I’m totally head over heels.

In May, Estee Lauder released three, limited edition, Macy’s exclusive blushes (Brazil Dream Color Collection). I picked them up a few weeks ago, but decided against blogging about it as it had been out a while.  When I swatched them, I instantly heard a choir sing, which typically happens when I discover an amazing makeup product.  Estee Lauder reformulated their blush and it is simply the best blush I’ve ever tried.  No joke.

Why?  It is finely milled; insanely pigmented; has buildable color, lasts all day with no fading, blends like a dream and you get 7g (0.24oz) of product for $28.  I know $28 isn’t cheap for a single makeup product, but if you can afford a Bobbi Brown blush for $25 (0.13oz); Nars for $28 (0.16oz) or Tarte Amazonian Clay for $25 (0.2oz) you should consider Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush.

You have two finish options, Satin and Shimmer.  If you’re a matte finish fan like me, don’t be afraid of their Satin finish.  It will not give you shiny cheeks, but the Satin finish adds depth to the color and very subtle glow to the cheeks.

Because I was so impressed with the limited edition blushes, I went and added a permanent color (Poppy Passion #7) to my collection.  Poppy Passion is a nice deep rose shade.  Nars Dolce Vita is close, but lighter and dustier.  The three limited edition blushes are still available at Macy’s.  They are all scary bright in the pan, but add nice color to the cheeks.  There are sixteen permanent shades, so I’m sure you’ll find one to love.
